Councillor Peter McGuire, was elected to Saint John Common Council in May 2004.
Councillor McGuire has worked as a rehabilitation specialist with Community Mental Health Services for 24 years. Areas of special interest are affordable housing, waterfront development and poverty reduction, and he has served on a number of community groups and associations, including:
- Member, Vision 2015 Committee
- Member, By-law Enforcement Advisory Committee
- Council Finance Committee
- Saint John Jeux Canada Games Foundation Inc.
- Co-chair, of P.R.O. Kids (Positive Recreation Opportunities for Kids)
- Researcher with the Domestic Violence Action Committee
- Saint John Substandard Housing Committee, and
- Chairman of American Collegiate Baseball
